The Chuter
Beltless Low Profile Parts & Scrap Reciprocating Conveyors

Perhaps you are already familiar with the concept of a reciprocating conveyor - commonly referred to as a shaker conveyor. Movement of the material is accomplished by forward and back motion of the tray or chute - faster in one direction than the other.

  • Use with P/A Transporters

  • Eliminates headaches of belt conveyors – No belts to replace!
  • Chutes sold separately – straights, doglegs, sorting holes, sealed for liquids.
  • Effective in parallel heights as low as ½”
  • Edges are “hemmed” for strength.
  • Change chutes (trays) in seconds to aid Quick Die Change.
  • Chutes available in any width / length up to 10’.
  • Normal shipment time is one week or less.

The Chuter: Frequently Asked Questions

1.

Is it tough enough?

Absolutely! Systems have been in continual use since their introduction in 1995.

2.

Is the Transporter reliable?

Yes! Longevity and performance are enhanced if air pressure is kept below 60 psi and if clean, lubricated air is supplied.

3.

What about service?

There is service available through Productivity Resources and P/A Industries. We have a core exchange program available. Ask for details.

4.

Will it help or hinder our QDC efforts?

It definitely helps! Chutes are changed or removed in seconds. Some stampers leave the chutes with each die. Other customers use an "A" frame rack with trays neatly stored by die number.

5.

You claim it is amazingly cost effective. How do you figure?

Check our typical system pricing page for details. Imagine supplying a belt conveyor for each parallel at the costs shown.

6.

How do I configure a system for my application?

TRANSPORTER

The Transporter is a unique, pneumatically driven feeder that was designed to solve scrap removal problems efficiently and inexpensively.  This Beltless Conveyor actuator transports pieces of scrap, or parts, with a shaking tray motion.  A custom tray is fitted onto the body and the rhythmic, linear motion moves the tray slowly forward and then quickly backwards.  The metal shavings, scrap, or finished parts are gently shuffled along the tray and into a convenient container.

Although air operated, the air consumption is so low that is considered insignificant in a press shop environment. The noise level is well under acceptable standards for industrial uses.

Install the Transporter under any tool, and problems with slugs, steel shavings and scraps disappear.

The Transporter costs a fraction of the price of motorized conveyors.  The replacement cost of belts and rollers alone justifies the change from conventional conveyors.

Originally developed to remove scrap from presses, the Transporter is now being used in assembly-type operations to move parts.

Design a "Chuter" tray configuration to suit any application.

Think you want to design your own conveyor?  No problem.  Check out the Transporter page to order a transporter for your application.  You can have your parts shakin' in no time.

Chances are our Chuter system will be less expensive and faster that if you attempt to design and build the conveyor yourself.

The Chuter requires some applications discussion to configure it correctly for your requirements.  Please contact Stampers Store by email or phone to learn more about this valuable conveying system, including pricing, delivery and support.  Please use our contact form to send your request and we will call you ASAP, or call us toll free at 888.614.0700.
